Step 1: Freeze the candle wax

After finding the remains of candle wax on a carpet, don't tear them off right away.

1. First, put ice cubes (4-5 pieces) in a plastic bag.
2. Apply them to the carpet that has wax on it.
3. Hold out until the wax has completely hardened.
4. Remove the frozen candle wax with a knife (blunt side).

Step 3: Treat greasy wax stains with alcohol

3. If all else fails, use mineral spirit, kerosene, acetone, or refined gasoline. Apply with a cotton swab and wipe the stain - but first test on the part of the carpet that, if anything goes wrong, isn't a shame as the solvent can burn out the paint! Then just scrub the carpet.

However, do not use thinner, as it will only get worse.

Either take your carpet outside or open all the windows. With all that chemicals, you won't feel good at all! And when you've cleaned the carpet, ventilate it anyway.
