What is a standard size lamp harp? (Most lamp harps have a 1/4” diameter (1/4-27 M) and some lamp cluster bodies have a 3/8” diameter (1/8; IPS rod) located on top of the harp or cluster).
What size are harps? It can be bewildering because harps come in more sizes and varieties than any other instrument I can think of: they can be from about 25” to 76” tall and have from 15 to 47 strings; they also can be very plain or extremely ornate with 24 carat gold leaf, painted sounding boards and you can even be “plugged” in (
How do you measure lamp size?
- Top denotes the diameter (or width, if measuring a square lamp shade) of the top of the lamp shade.
- Bottom denotes the diameter (or width) of the bottom of the lamp shade.
- The slant is the length of the side of the lamp shade.
How are lamp bases measured? For a round base, measure straight across; measure diagonally for a square base. The widest part of your shade should be at least a half-inch wider than the widest part of your base on each side. And when you’re considering width, don’t forget location.
